Ymca Jungle Bell Run

It seems that all too often living in the springs, races without hills don't exist. A few friends and I decided to do this race in Fountain a few weeks ago and were actually surprised at how much we enjoyed the course. It wasn't exactly a true 5k, but that's alright. The race goes through the Adams Open Space in Fountain which I didn't even know existed. It was fairly flat, and I got out to a 4:38-39 first mile, supposedly splitting two miles in 9:08-9:10 which I knew wasn't right and ended up running 14:25 for most likely 3.0 or so miles. Just a fun race that none of us really took too seriously.

Christmas Week

This week was ok, not too many miles.
Sunday- 13.0 Miles in MVP
Monday- 10.0 Miles at 11:30 at night in MVP.
Tuesday- 13.0 Miles in MVP.
Wednesday- 13.0 Miles in Ute Valley Park.
Thursday- 0
Friday- 10.0 Miles in Red Rocks. I ended up pushing the pace a little too fast and dropped 2 of the guys we were running with. Good run though and nice and warm for a change.
Saturday- 13.0 in Palmer Park. Not bad, some ice in spots. Easy pace.
72 miles for this week. I started to do workouts a few weeks ago and got sick, so its time to get back again and get ready for next year,

First Recent Blog

This is my first running related blog. I am at the point in the year that really kinda sucks. There are no races to run and I am just setting into running alot of miles. After a very poor showing at a race in November, I decided that it was time to get back to doing workouts.
This week so far:
Sunday: 13 Miles in MVP.
Monday: 10 Miles in Palmer Park 70 min or so
Tuesday: 13 Miles in MVP. Cold and slow.
Wednesday: 8 Miles in MVP. 18 degrees and windy this morning. Most likely do another 8 tonight with the dog.
My plan is to run 6x 1 mile or do something on the track such as 14-15 x 400 in 70 secs. with one minute recovery. We will see how the weather holds out.
